I am an award-winning bilingual (Arabic/English) filmmaker, scriptwriter, and Content Lead with over 7 years of experience across film, TV, and digital platforms in the UAE and GCC. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Information Studies from the American University in Dubai, with a major in Digital Production and Storytelling and a minor in Middle Eastern Studies. Karan S. Chavan is an Indian filmmaker based in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, known for his work in Marathi and Hindi cinema. He made his feature film debut with Imago (2018), a Marathi film that premiered at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival and later streamed on Netflix. The film received critical recognition and earned nominations and awards, including honors at the Kolhapur International Film Festival and the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival Awards.
Chavan’s second feature film, Bardovi (2024), is a Hindi-language theatrical release that later streamed on Waves OTT. In addition to his feature films, he has directed several award-winning short films.
He is also recognized for exploring the use of artificial intelligence in filmmaking, experimenting with new technologies to enhance visual storytelling. Recently, his two AI short films, Maun and The Last Wanderer, were screened at the AI Summit in New Delhi, India.
